Act of Aggression is hitting PC next month, and for fans on a real-time strategy kick this could be one to watch. It's from Eugen Systems, the mighty fine folk behind the Wargame series. This time around, however, it's not all fight, fight, fight, despite the name - Act of Aggression features extensive base building and resource management. Think Command & Conquer: Generals and you're along the right lines.

Set in the near-future, Act of Aggression pits three global superpowers against one another in a fight to the death, with an RTS hailing back to the golden era of the genre. Before you start constructing your impenetrable compound however, make sure you check out the official Act of Aggression system requirements.

As system requirements go, the Act of Aggression system requirements are way, way down at the low end, pleasingly. In terms of the minimum requirements needed for Act of Aggression, these are now relatively ancient components which the majority of PC gamers shouldn't have a problem matching. Everything from the 32-bit Windows Vista installation to just 2GB RAM is low-end, so getting it running shouldn't be an issue.

If you want to dial all those visual effects up though, then the opportunity's there if you've got the hardware. Despite this, the recommended requirements for Act of Aggression really aren't all that high, but it's sure to be helpful having the additional memory and horsepower once the screen's full of units. Depending on how seriously you intend to take your play, this is going to affect your framerate requirements. Those just looking to play through the single-player campaign casually can probably get away with cranking Act of Aggression's graphics up higher and cope with a bit of stuttering, but if you're hoping to get competitive then performance is king.
